Across the world, YouTube offers four types of subscriptions, with a personal Premium account available somewhere that is more affordable for a year in advance. In all cases, we list prices on a per-month basis. For example, for the YouTube Premium Family option, we list the price for one person out of six possible.

The Student option requires verification of student status once a year. YouTube Premium Lite, available in a few countries, only removes ads, and videos cannot be downloaded or played in the background.

We found the prices by logging into YouTube from a given country via VPN. The offer almost always includes one or the first two months free.

   The price of a Disney+ subscription is directly affected by the purchasing power of the population. It is lower in poorer countries such as Turkey or Romania, while richer countries such as the USA, Switzerland or Denmark pay more.

   The cheapest Disney Plus is in Turkey ($1.66 per month when paying a year in advance), Romania ($5.35) and, somewhat surprisingly, Japan ($5.34).

   The most expensive Disney Plus can be subscribed to in Switzerland ($11.84), Liechtenstein ($11.84) and the USA ($11.67).

3. Disney Plus Subscription vs. Disney Plus Basic

   Disney Plus offers two subscription options in all countries: Recurring monthly payment, or a 1-year subscription with full payment upfront. The second option is more convenient, the price per year usually corresponds to 10 months of continuous payment. In terms of content and features, the two options are no different.

   In some countries, Disney Plus also offers a Basic plan. Its advantage is the lower price, the disadvantage is the insertion of ads that cannot be skipped. The number and length of ads varies, and as a rough guide, there is 1 minute of ads for every 30 minutes of programme. Their placement can be read from the playback progress bar.

   Is Disney Plus Basic worth it? In my opinion, the Disney Plus Basic plan is not worth it. The price difference is not that significant and the ads are generally annoying.

   How Many Profiles Can You Have Under One Account?

   With one Disney+ subscription, you can play video on up to 4 devices at the same time. This means you can create a maximum of 4 different profiles.

   Does Disney Plus Offer a Free Trial Period?

   No, Disney+ does not offer a free trial period.

   You can take advantage of fairly frequent subscription discounts where, for example, you can get a 12-month subscription for the price of 9 months. A pay-as-you-go Disney Plus subscription can be cancelled at any time.

   How Do I Cancel My Disney Plus Subscription?

   You can cancel your Disney Plus subscription simply via the web, just log in. The subscription will be terminated at the end of the period. For annual subscriptions, a refund can be requested within 15 days of payment, at which point the money will be fully refunded to your account.

5. How to watch Disney Plus from abroad

   To watch Disney Plus from abroad, you must use VPN to connect to your home country. A VPN can change your virtual location. The Disney Plus platform will think you’re in Los Angeles, for example, when you’ll actually be in Paris.

   A VPN has yet another advantage. It allows you to access content that is unavailable in your country. Again, just connect to a US server, for example, and you’ll unlock movies and TV shows that aren’t available here.

6. How to save on your Disney Plus subscription

   1⃣ Share Your Disney Plus Account With Friends

   Disney Plus can be used by up to four users at the same time, and depending on the terms, they must be from the same household. If the terms are violated, the account may be temporarily blocked or cancelled entirely. Whether or not users come from the same household is entirely at the discretion of Disney Plus.

   Disney Plus began actively combating password sharing on November 1, 2023, first in Canada and then in other markets.

   2⃣ Pay Disney Plus for a Full Year

   If you know you’ll be watching Disney Plus for the long term, pay for a full year’s subscription up front. You’ll have to spend a higher amount in one lump sum, but you’ll get about two months free compared to a pay-as-you-go subscription.

   3⃣ Cancel Your Disney Plus Subscription

   Cancel your subscription if you don’t regularly watch movies and TV shows on the Disney+ platform. Logically, as the number of subscription services increases, the amount of time you can devote to each decreases. If no one in your household has turned on Disney Plus once in the last three months, you’re paying for it for nothing.

   4⃣ Switch Between Subscriptions to Different Services

   Want to watch movies and TV shows from multiple platforms but don’t want to pay for each one at the same time? There’s a solution.

The downside is that you’re likely to see new series late compared to your friends. On the other hand, instead of paying for a whole year, you only need two months.

   5⃣ Take Advantage of Discount Promotions

   Disney Plus offers a discount promotion from time to time, where they offer discounted subscriptions. You can never tell for sure ahead of time when the discount will be available. A common period with discount promotions is Black Friday during November.

Netflix subscription prices are above average in most English-speaking countries due to their higher purchasing power compared to the rest of the world.

How much Netflix costs in 245 countries

Netflix bases its price on the purchasing power of the population. For example, in Switzerland, people are willing to pay more than $12.90 for the Standard plan, but in India, the same price tag would hang too high for most of the population.

The cheapest Netflix is in Pakistan ($2.86), Turkey ($7.06), Argentina ($8.28), Colombia ($2.36) and India ($5.98).

The most expensive Netflix is in Switzerland ($23.01), Liechtenstein ($23.01), Israel ($14.50), USA ($15.49) and Denmark ($16.29).

These prices are for the Standard tariff. The price difference between the Basic and Standard tariffs is, on average, 37%, but the differences between countries are significant. This is partly due to the chosen pricing strategy and rounding in local currency. As a result, the difference between Standard and Premium is, on average, 26 %.

In almost every country, Netflix offers three plans you can cancel at any time. In some developing countries, Netflix also provides a mobile-only plan. The tariffs differ in price, maximum resolution, and the number of devices where you can watch the videos simultaneously.

Netflix’s pricing policy favours the most expensive plan, where up to four people can watch videos and split the subscription fee between them. Everyone will benefit from this, and in addition to the lower price, you can play a 4K video.

How to save money on Netflix

1⃣ Share your Netflix account with friends

Two to four people can watch the videos on the Standard and Premium plans. But you can create more user accounts since not everyone will be watching the videos at the same time.

Under Netflix’s rules, only household members who live at the same address can share a subscription with each other. Effective June 2023, Netflix began strictly enforcing this rule. Any account shared outside the household is now subject to a regular monthly fee, which varies by country. In the U.S., the fee is $7.99 per person per month, in Canada $5.81, in the U.K. $6.21 and in Australia $5.13

The golden plan is the Premium, in which six people can share the subscription fee. With Premium, up to four people can play the video simultaneously, which gives a sufficient margin in the six-person number for when most of them want to watch Netflix.

2⃣ Cancel your Netflix subscription

With the already high (and growing) number of paid services, the number of those with no time left is increasing. In this case, it is pointless to pay for them. So if you have not had time to watch Netflix once in the last three months, cancel your subscription.

Log in to your user account and click on “Cancel Membership”. You will no longer receive charges for the next billing period.

3⃣ Rotate subscriptions between services and watch content in bursts

If you do not want to give up your favorite content from different services, or the previous tip is too radical for you, you can do it another way. Create a calendar of when your favourite series is coming out on Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+ ,or Amazon Prime.

For example, subscribe to Netflix, and watch the series and any other shows you missed. Then cancel your subscription and pay for HBO Max, catch up on the new movies, and move on.

   With a single Amazon Prime Video subscription, you can watch movies and TV shows on up to three different devices at the same time; there is no explicit limit on the number of users. At the same time, there is a restriction that the same video can be watched on no more than two different screens at the same time.

   Does Amazon Prime Video Offer a Free Trial Period?

   In most countries around the world, Amazon offers the first 30 days of Prime Video for free. While a credit card is required to create a user account and a small amount is charged, the full subscription will not begin until after 30 days.

   While it’s possible to watch movies and TV shows on Amazon Prime Video from abroad, the titles on offer may vary. This is especially true when travelling outside the European Union, where Amazon may not hold the copyright to some titles.

   The solution for accessing all domestic titles from anywhere in the world is easy. Just install VPN on your phone or computer, which can virtually change your location.    The subscription price is approximately half the price of the Individual option. Premium Student also applies to one person only, and verification of the subscriber’s student status is required to activate it. This is done through a third party service. Premium Individual can be used by high school and university students.

   Spotify Premium Duo = 2 Accounts

   The Duo option is primarily designed for couples, as it can be used by two people at the same time without violating the terms of service. The price for the Duo variant is lower compared to two subscriptions purchased separately. The condition is that both users must live at the same address.

   Spotify Premium Family = 6 Accounts

   The highest subscription option is for up to 6 users, who must live at the same address, according to the terms and conditions. However, Spotify does not strictly enforce this condition, so Family subscriptions are often shared between friends who live in different locations. In addition, the family manager can prohibit individual members from playing explicit content.

   A YouTube Premium subscription will remove all ads, allow you to download videos to your device, play them with your phone’s screen off, and give you access to the YouTube Originals video library.

   The secret to saving is the country you activate YouTube Premium from. That’s because Google has set different prices for different countries depending on their purchasing power. The differences in subscription rates are significant.

In Pakistan it costs $1.71479 ₨ per month, just share the account with friends or family, and YouTube Premium will only cost one person $0.54149.83 ₨ per month.

   A subscription to YouTube Music Premium is similarly convenient. Plus, the first month is always free.

   Payment Problems in Some Countries

   The price of YouTube Premium in India, Argentina and Turkey is even lower, but as of 2023, an Indian credit card is required for online payments. We were unable to activate the subscription there. We’ve been successful in Pakistan, where the price is lower, card payment is hassle-free, and VPN servers are available for that country.

   In 2 Other Countries the Price Is Lower Than in Pakistan

   In the following two countries, YouTube Premium subscription prices are even lower than Pakistan. In Sri Lanka, a subscription costs $2.08629 Rs and in Nigeria $0.991100 ₦ per month. The problem is that we couldn’t find a VPN with physical servers where YouTube could identify the relevant country. If you discover one, please let us know in the comments.

   How can a VPN change your location? By having your computer connect to websites not directly, but through a VPN server. VPN service providers have hundreds of secure servers around the world, the user can choose the country at will. So YouTube will think you’re in Pakistan even though you’re sitting on your couch in your living room at home.

   Using a VPN also brings with it other benefits: Enhanced security, especially when using unsecured wi-fi networks in coffee shops, and making it much harder to track you down. You will become virtually untraceable to website operators.

3. 

   Connect to Pakistan and Activate YouTube Premium

   In the VPN settings, select Pakistan and connect. When you successfully connect to the Pakistan VPN, you will see YouTube Premium in the “PK” logo and the prices will be listed in the “PKR” currency.

   If you see prices in dollars, euros, or any other currency, you are not connected through a Pakistani VPN. Try connecting again. Some VPNs use virtual servers that are actually located in a completely different country. YouTube lists the actual country for these servers, not the virtual one.

   Then go to your YouTube account settings. Here, select Profile » Paid Membership and activate your subscription. Don’t forget to set up a billing address in Pakistan. Just open Google Maps and select it completely at random.

   YouTube subscriptions are paid by card, and money will be charged in Pakistani rupees. According to feedback from readers, there may be issues when paying with a regular card, we pay via Revolut without any problems.

   How to Activate YouTube Premium Family

   You can add family members in YouTube Premium Subscription Management. Simply fill in the person’s email address and a message will be sent to them with a confirmation link. This must be clicked with a Pakistani VPN connected, otherwise Premium will not be activated. I recommend clicking the link in an anonymous browser window.

   To confirm the link, the user must log in to his account, it is not enough to just click on it. So the newly added person either has to install the VPN, tell you the password to their account or most simply: Set up YouTube Premium when you see her in person and you can click on the link from your device.

   You can’t edit the billing address, but that’s fine. Once you change it from Pakistani to your real one, the cheap YouTube Premium will be deactivated.

4. Pay Your Subscription With MasterCard

   As of February 2023, you cannot use a Visa credit card issued outside the country you are connecting through to pay for YouTube Premium.

   Anyone who used a Visa card has received an email from YouTube asking them to update their payment details. You can no longer save the same (or any other) Visa card to your payment methods, you will always get an error message.

   The cheap subscription according to this guide can still be used if you use a MasterCard. We switched from Visa to Revolut’s MasterCard card on August 23, 2023 and have verified that this works. Setting up and maintaining an account from Revolut is free, and registration, including approval, takes just a few minutes.

   We recommend you also set it up and always pay for similar services with it. That way, payments are separate from your main account, the Revolut app keeps you informed of each transaction, and you can save on the exchange rate. Revolut’s exchange rate is one of the most advantageous. Setting up and using Revolut is free.

5. Use YouTube the Way You Used To

   Once you’ve activated your subscription, you can continue using YouTube as you are used to. You no longer have to be connected via VPN and you don’t have to pretend you’re in Pakistan.

   You will no longer see ads while playing videos, you can watch videos in the background on your phone and even listen to music with the display turned off. In addition, there’s a button in the app to download videos to your phone’s memory for when you don’t have internet access.

   Unlike using Adblock, this way you’re not robbing the video creators of money; YouTube cuts a small portion of your subscription.

   Watch Out for Card Expiration

   When your card expires or is blocked, your YouTube Premium subscription may automatically end. Reactivation requires a VPN connection. So make sure you have enough money on your card.
